The tarot is a set of cards featuring 21 trump cards, the fool, and an extra face card per suit, in addition to the usual suit (face and pip) cards found in ordinary playing cards. Tarot cards are used throughout much of Europe to play Tarot card games.
In English-speaking countries, where the games are largely unknown, Tarot cards came to be utilized primarily for divinatory purposes with the trump cards--along with the Fool card--comprising the 22 major arcana cards and the pip and four face cards the 56 minor arcana.
Personal Experience
I have been reading Tarot cards & Dreams since 1990, when I received my first Tarot deck as a gift. I have been reading The Tarot for 18 years. During these 18 years, I have never once had an incorrect reading. I have several repeat customers who not only believe that the readings help, but would fall apart at the seams if I were no longer available to read the cards for them (or so I'm told *smiles*). The cards have guided myself and others through many tough situations. They have also helped me to better understand who I am, and more importantly how to improve myself and my reactions to others.
